I don't have an eBay account, so please correct me if I am mistaken, but eBay's shopping cart strongly suggests it is supplied from outside the UK, and tax and Duty are not included. 'Bresser UK' is owned by Bresser GmbH, in Germany. HTH, Steve

I can understand you thinking this, it is an unusual situation, but FWIW, we haven't heard anything about Bresser Messier Dobsonians being discontinued 🙂 HTH, Steve

Looking at the advert, the eBay 'retailer' is Bresser's distributor in Germany. So, the advertised price does not include UK VAT or Duty. The true price then is £595 plus, I presume, a Customs handling fee. Their price is still lower than UK retailers' price (£639) but doesn't include a UK warranty (you'd need to contact Bresser's distributor in Germany for warranty support). HTH, Steve

Celestron released the UK price this afternoon. It is £3999. Looking this evening, they are £3,999. Perhaps £3,800 was an earlier guess. Either way, we'll monitor prices between now and its arrival. HTH, Steve

The Celestron 8" RASA (not the 6" model discussed here) was temporarily withdrawn from sale. That was some time ago. A new batch was recently released and our first stock delivery (only one!) arrived this morning. Another shipment is en route, so more will be available in 1-2 weeks. HTH

Celestron have today released details of their first 'Home Observatory' telescope, and it features Rowe Ackermann optics 🙂 Celestron Origin 6 RASA ETA around May 2024 We don't yet have a price, but are guessing around £4k.

ZWO has revealed a new camera 🙂 The ZWO ASI 664MC USB 3 features Sony's 1/1.8" Sony IMX664 sensor with a small pixel size of 2.9um and a high resolution of 2704 x 1536 (4.15MP). Compared to the ASI 662MC, the new ASI 664MC has a larger sensor and higher resolution. ETA 2-3x weeks.

This interesting new focal reducer will hugely expand the capability of Meade ACF telescopes for astrophotography 🙂 A 50mm T-thread adapter for 55mm back-focus is included and is removable for SCT thread access at 105mm - so it is super easy to work with. Meade ACF 0.68x Focal Reducer

The Sky-Watcher SkyHawk-1145PS AZ-GTe bundle provides a low-cost way of owning an AZ-GTe mount, which isn't available to buy separately. Consider, the AZ-GTe mount is the same as the hugely popular AZ-GTi, minus 'Freedom-Find' (Freedom-Find is unnecessary for astrophotography). The AZ-GTi, with extension pillar and tripod, costs £345.
