I am drooling.

I've just started reading "A Short History Of Everything" by Bill Bryson. Its by no means essential reading but it makes learning the basics of the universe fun.

Look to the top right of the original image, there are stars with comet like appearences, this is coma, a quick explaination of coma can be found here, coma usually represents it self in parabolic mirrors e.g. reflector telescopes.
Cheers
Nadeem.
Thanks Deneb. I have a basic grasp of what coma is on images (strethching of stars/detail towards the outer edge of the EP?). I just cant see it in the original image.
I DO need new glasses though.

I have sooo much to learn. I honestly can not see a difference between both images. I can see that the 1st image shows diffraction spikes (i really like that effect) but thats all i can see.

My LP filter arrived yesterday. Thanks FLO.

Not boring at all. All that you need in one box.
True. It serves me WELL (specially with the SW130P). I just said it was "BORING" cuz as a relative newbie to scopes................i'm sure most of you seasoned observers know better and would not dream of using it and al your EP cases look so amazing.
Its all good though.

WELL DONE to all at FLO. You have made so many people so happy at very short notice.
Merry Christmas to you all. You are a credit to yourselves.

I got my scope delivered by the coolest Fedex guy ever. He said to me that he knew it was a scope in the box so he took good care of it. He is a bit of a stargazer himself he said.
I guess he could also have been telling porkies and kicked the box around or dropped it and was covering himself and Fedex incase it arrived in a million pieces.
LOL.

Hi Steve and James. I just recieved my scope (3 days to the exacting minute that you sent it out). It arrived in perfect condition (both box and scope). Big thanks to you both. It was a pleasure doing business with FLO. I will be using you again in the future.
Thanks again for keeping me informed about when the scope was shipped etc.
Merry Christmas to you.

Sorry MishMich, i am not ignoring your last post. I just dont think we need to be discussing the finer points of Irish weather on a thread dedicated to praising the superb service/customer relations of FLO.
But yes...............Ireland is WET,CLOUDY and generally miserable most of the year round and the skies over the west/south west are some of the best i have ever seen.

I'm afraid there has to be a downside for living in Ireland! It's the price you pay for a lovely country!
Cloud is cloud no matter where you live. The only difference is that Irish clouds are green.
LOL.

Thanks James i have done what you asked me to do in the email. I have also replied to you with a query.
Many thanks.

I always plan on higher shipping costs to ROI when ordering online. Its the price we have to pay here for not having many astronomy retailers here.
Even an online subscription to astronomy mags costs me a few pounds more to be sent to me from UK. Guess i'll have to wait and see. I dont think it will be too much (fingers crossed).
-
Thanks Steve. I had a funny feeling that the £4 shipping cost wouldnt apply to Ireland. Off hand do you know roughly how much it will be?
-
I have just placed my first order with FLO. I could have gone with my usual supplier(s) but FLO were a couple of pounds cheaper. I am now wondering when my new toy will arrive?
I live in Ireland.

It sure is an impressive looking bit of gear and i salute your workmanship.
Would it be rude to ask about costings for the build?
finished item,i mean.
