Caught them in the bino's last night, but very foggy here today. not sure it will lift this time to give a chance of seeing them at their closest.

I had a good look this morning, between 5 and 6, very easy spot with my 20 x 80 binoculars. Thought I could see a hint of tail, but that may be wishful thinking. I could  see a misty blob, which looked slightly off white in colour.

I will get the scope out next time, weather permitting

A late season Jupiter rom calm conditions on Monday evening. Even though Jupiter was between my willow tree branches i still managed to grab a pretty respectable final image. 

The usual set up  C9.25, X1.8 Barlow, ADC, Asi224mc. 180 second SER, stacking 20%

First night out in what seems like ages and the conditions were pretty stable in Bedfordshire.

So, with the "walking on the Moon" theme i imaged Copernicus on Monday 2nd, at a Focal length i would not normally consider with the Asi290mm.

According to Astronomy tools calculator at F30 this is a resolution of 0.08"x0.08" per pixel

Captured with C9.25, Asi290mm, X3 Barlow, 642 filter, this is 20% stack of 3700 frames @ max size. 

It is a bit softer looking than at the sensible resolution, i captured a little before, but fairly pleased with how it came out.

Thanks for all the comments,  hoping to put together a animation this weekend. I caught the earlier shadow transit as well, but the conditions were very poor at that time.

Lots of high haze to go with the Jetstream unfortunately.

Very hazy at times last night, but worth the perseverance to view such an event. Pleased with the details visible here.

A fine capture, not very easy last night at all.

A lot better currently, looking very impressive right now.

Going to  be tough tonight from my location,  unless things improve dramatically.  Lots of clouds,  very unstable at times as well.  Will be happy with anything resembling a decent image 🙂

A fine-looking Jupiter image, some nice detail visible there.

It's a fairly long drive from Carlisle. I'm a bit older now though, and I would need to assess my ability to

Old age is something i am beginning to consider more and more, even in Astronomy. I have been thinking of a larger aperture planetary scope for a while, but the simple weight puts me off a bit even now, but more so for the future.

I use a hood that i received a couple of Christmas back.  Does the job, not cheap and is a little warm in the summer months. I also use a laptop tent and a couple of car windscreen sun shades clipped to a table to try and create a shaded Laptop.

Welcome back Ron, you are one of the few SGL members i have actually met in person at AstroFest a couple of years back 🙂 

Good to hear you are on the mend, not much has changed around here really, seems a little Quiter than years gone by. I guess forums are not as popular as they once were perhaps.

 we are still moaning about the weather, seeing conditions, light pollution, but most importantly still enjoying this wonderful pastime.

A very damp night, after the days rain. Conditions reasonable, pretty pleased with how it has turned out. I applied x1.5 drizzle to the bottom image by mistake, posted just for reference really.
