Hi Martin. The atlas suggested by littleguy80 is good. If you have an ipad or android tablet there is an app that I use both on my iphone and ipad that is free and shows the phase of the moon, and you can flip the view to match what you see in your scope. Here’s an image of Hesiodus flipped to show the view through a ‘frac. You can also search for specific craters also. I am not aware of any hard copy maps that show phases as such.

Just been out with my 80mm ED ‘frac and spotted this with 5mm EP with 2x Barlow fitted. Moon was hazy to see but beam on crater floor was easy to spot still. Thanks for heads up.

The planet Venus, not a star.

Diddly squat here in east Yorkshire too.

Price for 2” T2 adaptor is?

Is this a brand new mount, or second hand one?

Like David said I’d check you have enough power before you dig for any more complicated issues.

Hi and welcome from East Yorkshire! Enjoy the site! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Er, not sure why it removed a word I typed in there. Was certainly nothing rude or anything? 🤔
Unless there is another meaning that I am not aware of for this removed word the word censored was j.o.k.e.y. for when someone says or does a funny thing!

Have to say this is going to be a hard one to judge. All works (apart from the [removed word] one from Justin) are excellent (but yours is good in another way Justin! ). Really enjoying seeing all items submitted. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😀😀😀😀

I have Starry Night Pro. If you hover your cursor to the right of Deep Sky you should see a slider you can set. However if you zoom in closer to an area you should see the labels appear. If you set the slider fully to the right to shiw maximum percentage you should see them appear when zoomed in closer to areas.

Nice capture. Well done! 👍🏻

Use three different kinds of mount combinations options when observing;
1. For small/mid range scopes & for quicker set up I use AZ5 with slow motion controls on Berlebach Report tripod, or if using a heavier/longer ‘frac I’ll use my Skytee ll with slow motion controls on a Berlebach Uni-28 mount.
2. If I don’t feel like lugging out the heavier Skytee ll but want to use one of my longer ‘fracs I will sometimes use my AA Sabre push to mount.
3. If I feel like a really good, longer session under the stars I have a choice of using either my Celestron SE8 goto mount which I can use my C8 SCT on, or again if I want to use one of my longer ‘fracs I’ll get out my HEQ5 Pro goto mount.
If I were to break that down in percentage for usage I guess it would be close to 60% for option 1, and then an even split of 20% each for options 2 & 3.

Sorry, that should say IPA = Isopropyl alcohol.
