A nice M3 for sure. you have skills. Thanks for sharing the thing. (-:
  2. THAT is a good looking rig Sir, especially nice focuser. I am curious if you use the paracorr with the Ethos on that scope, or is it un-necessary? I couldn't help but notice that you have a LARGE telescope and a SMALL barbeque... I guess the budget has to be maintained!
  3. This is NEB, my goto LB16 - I have a lot of fun with it... just roll it out back, do the 2 star align, and get after it.
  4. Your instructions are much appreciated! I have had the x2c in use a couple times now, with spotty success... I can't wait to have another go at it using some of the info in hand now. cheers Sean
  5. Thanks for the moral support iam. The Lightbridge 16 is here and so are the clouds... as a matter of fact there were tornado warnings today, so I know that the sky lords are aware that I have a new telescope - LOL. I took the time to make some needed modifiactions - 1) added wheels and retractable handles to the base. 2) Sewed up some canvas into a truss shroud, and a hair-net for the top. 3) added an eyepiece bracket 4) added some ambient light - much help on those dark nights. 5) beefed up the base structure. It was a bit wobbly during transportation. 6) added two pinstipes. That should improve the views,eh? Other than that, not much happened with Neb today (I named it Neb). I hope to post some pictures of my modifications - as soon as I figure out how to do that on this site... ugh... I think that anyone with a Dob scope will appreciate them, and maybe give some ideas too. Oh, and uh, It's suppose to be clear tomorrow night!!!!
  6. I have high hopes that I've made the right choice out of all the telescopes out there. The 16 Lightbridge arrives tomorrow, and I have to stay home to sign for it - ugh. Talk about giddy, it's like I'm 10 and it's Christmas eve... hours of back yard preparations - from trimming huge trees to putting down a patio slab, it is a sweet spot indeed. I hear the 16 is a big beast - hard to move, won't fit through a standard door..... got that all covered. I think. Regardless of all that - what this post is really about -is that I am just grateful to have found astronomy and this whole world of stargazing - I make plans for viewing and have goals to get what I will need to see all that is out there - and those are the sort of things that keep me from losing it when work sucks, or life beats the Rubbish out of me. I get through it because the skies are gonna be clear soon....
