Do your individual light frames look green?

There is a plugin for photoshop that can help with the green http://www.deepskycolors.com/archivo/2010/04/26/hasta-La-Vista-Green.html
hope you don't mind, apologies if you do and please delete, i ran both your images through HLVG so you can see what effect it has,

I think you have done really well with this for a 1st attempt 👍

☹️ Well I've had a look at this but i'm afraid all it's told me is I am not ready for a mono camera just yet 😀

I have the EQ6 pro and the ASI pro, i connect the pro to the mount with one of these https://www.firstlightoptics.com/sky-watcher-mount-accessories/lynx-astro-ftdi-eqdir-usb-adapter-for-sky-watcher-eq6-or-neq6-syntrek-pro-mounts.html
it probably would help if you could share some of what you have tried ( i know you want to ) it would save us having to guess what you have or not tried 😀

I really like this Jem. It is a very natural image and a wonderful demonstration of "less is more". You have stretched the histogram perfectly so as not to over cook things. So often we are all tempted to squeeze an image beyond it's limits and this never looks attractive. It has probably benefitted from your lack of processing knowledge! You obviously have a good feel for the data.
A wonderful compliment, thank you Martin.
I would have liked to reduce the red halos around the stars but not that advanced in the processing yet, and i could of done a little better with the framing, although i still don't think i would have fit it all in with my setup,
i am going to try and add more data to it weather allowing,I am impressed with the plate solving on the Air pro,

Though having learned the hard way that you can't stack a combination of FIT lights and RAW calibration frames in DSS
Yep, I've just learned that to, pity it can't do it really,
Strange thing is it's stopped doing it now, the only thing i did different was to reset all the custom settings that were in the DSLR ? Strange

This is my 1st attempt on this target, It's not going to win any awards i know. 🙂
Overall i'm happy with the fact that i captured data and you can tell what the target is, although without doubt there is room for improvement, also my processing skills are somewhat lacking to say the least,
this image was taken with
Sky-Watcher evostar 80ed (blue tube version)
EQ6 Pro Mount
Modified Canon 600d + 12nm HA filter (cheap version) 😀
All controlled with ASIAir Pro24 x 5 minutes exposures ( 36 were taken but 5 not used )
Darks, flats, bias frames were also used,
Images were only stacked in DSS then saved as Tiff and transferred to Photoshop were only levels and curves adjusted.
Any criticism on the image is welcome, and thanks for looking.

add automated focusing too and it's time to go inside and go to sleep and leave the rig running!
I don't think i could do that, i'd worry that something goes wrong or the weather changes 😀

Nice capture, I've just done 3 hours on his target but not tried to process them yet,

I use a Huawei media pad t5, cheapest tablet I could find with the minimum required RAM.
So you don't have any problems with that tablet with the pro even though it only has 2GB RAM and ZWO recommend 4GB for the pro with Android

As per the title, what are these all about ?
Can any body explain in layman's terms how i go about stacking and processing type of files please
Many thanks

Picture above wasn't hugely clear, so here's another - If there are any DSS experts out there, I'd be extremely grateful for any advice on what I might have done wrong here.
Stacking FIT files - you can see the DSS output below (I've tinkered with the histogram so you can see the image properly - although I'm not sure what the X-shaped histogram is about??) - I've never seen this before. It's always placed the data across the full screen, rather than cramming it all into just one quarter of it? Any thoughts?
Did you get this figured out ?? as i am having the same problem ?
-
I would say you would be way over the mount limit, the EQ2 only has load capacity of just over 4kg, the 200PD-S alone weighs 8.8kg,
I'm afraid if you want to go with the 200PD-S you really need to upgrade the mount first,

I think they only save in the auto run mode. They will save as FITS on the sd card but if you save them on the camera they will still be in RAW
I didn't use autorun, will next time though, i just assumed it would automatically save images to either sd card on pro or dslr

Did you set up a target in autorun ? otherwise you have to save the images manually with the button bottom right.
No i don't think i used autorun ? and did not know about the other button, like i said
Ah well lesson learned, i did think it would automatically save an image to dslr though, i take it that's not the case ?

Just been out with my ASIAir Pro for the 1st time to set everything up, Test Run.
my setup is as follows:
EQ6 Pro
ED80 Blue tube version
Main camera Canon 600D
Guide Camera ASI120MM Mini on QHY Mini guide scopeEverything connected up no problem, Polar aligned worked, Guiding worked,
took images, it showed them on the preview screen, but it's not saved them anywhere? not on the SD card or the extra drive that came with it not even saved any on DSLR even though i had save images to DSLR simultaneously ? turned on
I'm not to concerned about them not being saved as it was just a test run however i would like to know where i have gone wrong is there something i have not done that i should have or should it save images automatically ?
any tips would be gratefully accepted 🙂

I have recently acquired a Vixen Polarie with the intension of doing some wide field imaging,
I will be using my modified Canon 600D with it, Currently the only lens i have are a standard kit Canon 18-55mm and a old carl Zeiss Jenna 50mm , so i am looking at purchasing alternative lens to use,
The ones i am looking at for now are the following,
Canon EF 135mm f/2 L USM
Canon EF 200mm f/2.8 L II USM
Samyang 135mm f2 ED UMC
Samyang 14mm Ultra Wide-Angle f/2.8 IF ED UMC
Sigma 150mm f/2.8 APO EX DG HSM Macro
Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DXSo my question is, has anyone used any of these ( other than the Samyang 135mm f2 ) for wide field and if so how did you find them, would you recommend any of them?
from the ones listed (other than the Samyang 135mm f2 ) would you say there are better ones to look at or any other i should consider?
Regards
James

If the budget is tight then you could do worse than the 18-55 mm STM kit lens or the 50 mm f/1.8 STM prime.
Thanks for reply Alan,
The budget is somewhat tight, i would say it's between £200 to £300 total.

Hi all,
As i am soon to be the proud owner of a Vixen Polarie star tracker i am looking for some advice from the experts here on SGL with regards to widefield imaging with the Vixen Polarie.
I will initially be using it with a modified Canon 600D so am looking for advice on which lens would be best suited to use with it, I have already been pointed in the direction of the Samyang 135mm which by all accounts is a pretty good contender, so aside from that particular lens what other/s would you recommend that are Canon fitting,
Thanks in advance 🙂

Looks good, but what about the Askar FMA180 f/4.5 Astrograph Lens, it's a little cheaper than the Samyang,
I'm in 2 minds which of these 2 to get,
