A fine image of an old favourite. Some luminance data would help bring out more detail.
My oy criticism is that It is rather on the purple side.

I've always taken the same length exposures for my rgb

Have you checked that you're using the correct port and that it is set correctly in Stellarium scope?

Can I get an understanding of the back focus of this lens. Is this the distance from the base of the lens to the sensor? (is it the very rear end of the camera lens)
My Camera Atik460 = 13mm back focus and the EFW = 22mm = 35mm
I think I read somewhere that the back focus for this camera is 44mm so I need a further 9mm is that correct?
With the Geoptik adapter I can't get closer than about 46mm because the foot of the adapter fouls the EFW when trying to screw it on and can only fit it with a small adapter. Have tried to remove the foot but it won't budge.
Carole
Have you thought about using one of these?

Hi
Yes I know he has got a proper job but the web site says he has cameras available for sale.
So my thinking is that they are already modified or am I getting the wrong end of the stick.
Regards Solarboy
I believe they are done on an order by order basis. When I ordered mine it did take a few weeks and replies to emails were slow, but they did come and I got replies and my camera in the end.

Have you got limits enabled in EQMOD? Perhaps it reached the limit and stopped.
There are no limits set.
My mount randomly stops regardless of where it is aiming. It can happen after a few seconds or a few hours.
My initial thought is the power connection, but I've tried mains and my tracer battery and both give the same result. I've also tried using duck tape to make sure the connector stays in.

I'm having a bit of a problem with my neq6 recently. I hadn't used it for about a month or so, then had clear skies so I set up as usual and after everything was running smoothly I left it to do its thing. I checked back around 20 minutes later to find it hsf stopped tracking. Reset everything and it happened again.
I've tried changing the power supply, tried changing my eqmod cable and even tried the handset but it keeps happening. I've wached the red light and it doesn't blink or go off.
Has anyone encountered this problem before or have any other ideas as to why this may be happening?

Yes - sorry we are behind on these, mugs are now here and will ship next week.
Thanks for the update. My apologies if this seemed rude, it was not intended that way as I fully understand you guys do this as just a bit of fun and isn't a priority.
I was just Checking that you received my pm.

@Grant I'm just wondering if you received my pm as I notice it is still unread.

Hi
I'm looking for a mount to use on dark sky trips and I'm looking for some suggestions. I'm wanting something with goto but is also relatively lightweight and easy to setup/ tear down. There's a few about on the 2nd hand market at the moment but with most costing £400+ that's a bit more than I'm wanting to spend as it will only be used rarely. Payload isn't a great concern ss it will only be used with a Samyang 135mm lens and qhy183c.
I have an neq6 for my main rig, but it isn't exactly portable. I also have a star adventurer but I loose almost half my subs due to errors and even more time trying to polar align then find my target, then again polar aligning as its very easy to knock out.
Would it be worth getting the star adventurer hypertuned, or should I just get another, sturdier mount with goto?
All thoughts and opinions are welcomed

I use a similar light pad, on the dimmest setting and still diffuse with a couple of sheets of paper

How does the stacked, unprocessed image look? If the core isn't blown out on the stack, you can always use that for the trapezium/ core.

I have no doubt the lens is good, but was more wondering what the results were like when used on a travel mount such as the Star Adventurer with its limited tracking/guiding ability
Here's an image I took with a star adventurer and Samyang 135mm with my qhy183c.
Its a 2 panel mosaic. 34 x 60 second subs for the bottom panel, 21 x 60 second subs for the top panel. All subs taken at f2.
Hope this helps.

It is an amazing lens and I doubt you'd be disappointed in it. Have a look here at what it's capable of.

Very nice shot indeed.

Thanks.
I only managed 34 subs on orion and 17 on the belt. I took alot more but trailing and tracking errors ruined alot of subs.
I'll have to work out how to fit my neq6 in my car for next time.

Nice, are you southern hemisphere?
No, I'm in the UK. That's the orientation Astroart spat the stack out.

A rotator and adapter for my widefield Samyang rig turned up today. Just hope the forecast holds for tomorrow night

I do prefer the 1st image. That's not to say the 2nd isn't beautiful though, it really is an outstanding image

Could it just be severe tilt? The stars in my st80 look a bit like this through my guide camera. Which has a fair bit of movement in the focuser.
