  1. In the next to last picture it looks like you have the two steel washers stuck togeather instead of one on each side of the roller bearing which incidentally I can't see in the pictures!
  2. Either take a PIC or sketch it and I'll check mine tomorrow to see if its the same.
  3. If its not that you need to check the order that the bearing parts have gone back in is correct. I think mine had a fiber washer that acted as a clutch plate which would need to be in the correct place for the crown gear to transfer drive power to the Dec axis drive shaft.
  4. have you left the silver clutch lock too loose when tightening the silver locking ring up to it. try setting the clutch lock so that its just close to engaged then screw the silver locking collar up to it and tighten its grub screw's.
  5. Monk have you tightened the black locking collar enough that's the one with grub screws to lock it on the shaft. If that's too loose the clutch won't engage.
  6. Maybe all the scopes look too Scarry so everything goes into hiding! For a science based community this is getting far too silly, my fault I know.
  7. Why is it that its more often clear during a full moon then a new moon!
  8. I wish that sodding cloud would go away and how long to new moon!
  9. Thanks Catman161 I think you have persuaded me to take my mount apart and photograph the process.
  10. I have adjusted mine by putting an ammeter in line so I can see if the mount binds by noting the current its drawing and keeping that as low as possible. Managed to get rid of most of the backlash and still not bind the gears. Having said that the real test will be if we ever get a clear sky to try it! Must be coming up to 5 or 6 weeks since last night I could use.
  11. Damian that scope is a thing of real beauty complimented only by the mug with a star on it in PIC 2.
  12. You could change the glass holders for handpumps that way it wouldn't matter if its cloudy!
  13. Jonk have you had chance to use the Az yet?
  14. Gembol I bet you get a clear night before me!
  15. Jambouk now there's a business opportunity!
  16. Gembol I take it you managed to sort out the encoder cover to stop it rubbing then? I am glad it seems to have gone well for you and I am just glad to help.
  17. That's great you have a clear idea of what you want to do. My mount had very dirty grease which I have thankfully cleaned off.
  18. Anyone bought the clear sky gun from flo (Tic)! I recon its getting desperate now been two bad months here with little chance. Now it doesn't get dark anymore!
  19. gembol how have you got on I am Dying to know?
  20. Jambouk I live between Wigan and Bolton which is quite a way from you but I appreciate the offer. I don't think copyright would be a problem or Haynes would have been clobbered for there car guides.
  21. Mmm OK I'll seriously consider stripping it down again to photograph the steps.
