When you say better telescope from the 50ELP do you mean better match your field of view requirement or something else?
-
They're clear enough to enable you to identify the features

Wow they look striking. I think they are Nacreous clouds

Might be worth doing a general search on EEA with 6SE to see what's being achieved, your telescope will be good for Moon and planets anyway.

Thanks for the insight! When you use that piece mentioned for Astrophotography I’m guessing you cannot visual observe at the same time? It replaces the eyepiece?
EEA is live visual observing in that you look at a screen while the image of what you are looking at dynamically builds so brings further life to the smudge and may resolve shape and colour. But yes it is either eyepiece in the focuser or camera. I was only thinking about if you find your bortle sky hard work on DSO what else might extend your hobby

Welcome
The planetarium Stelarium is great to use to see what's up there in your location. Talking cameras and electronically enhanced astronomy EEA which might be an option to look into for seeing more in your back yard, the ASI585MC appears popular due to it's capacity and bit bigger chip then a straight planetary camera.

It seems like since the evoguide this 50mm sector has really grown and this little triplet looks really nice

welcome, i you can posting images as jpegs is quicker to help with and share what the image is.

just watching a great video by Dr Michael Owen makes for good watching of SharpCap planetary live stacking as it is raining

With the ra clutch loose does the mount have free and easy movement full circle? What's the attitude like when also clutch loose are there any sticky patches?

I wouldn't change anything in your next test other than ensure you have removed both the filters discovered to have been fitted at the same time when you got the Christmas tree shaped stars. I'd get a clear control test in before evaluating any other change.

Nice to see some captures.
Nothing on my camera it was fairly patchy cloud, it ran from just after 12 to 4 ish

If you're taking video then have a go with astrostakkert with one of your videos, Keep the video short enough so the whole planet is included start to finish

No luck last night so will try again tonight with the Lego mounted all sky camera. The camera runs once the street lights go out until the battery goes flat around 4 am

Also, for noise reduction from heat on a long exposure, my camera will automatically take a second exposure of equal length as the sensor is cooling down to map out the heat distribution and use that mapping to reduce noise from heat for that specific capture. I can not turn this function off. So effectively if an exposure is 5 minutes, it will take 10 minutes to actually process. (I am an extremely patient man by the way.)
it might be an idea to test your camera now on a static tripod. Face east or west keeping altitude reasonably low take a single shot with your widest lens on a dark clear night.
Taking your widest lenses 600/28 gives roughly 21 seconds before startrails.
Take an image
Turn off in camera noise suppression if you can
Take another shot
Compare images to see what impact in camera noise suppression has on the stars, you may find some have disappeared, this may be acceptable for you.

I've been using that FF for well over two years now it works great for me

A wobbly tripod is more stable when it's used not fully extended, sitting to view is often quite comfortable and to be patient to see those moments of detail. Jupiter can be great for observing but is usually being there in the moment of clarity between Jupiter being jiggly again.

Paintshop pro is another similar to photo elements, but I also often use GIMP as well.
As GIMP is free there is nothing lost in installing it and having a go.
Paint.NET is free and might be similar too. I've not used it

I'm playing with a Lego build as making a change to my incidental all sky camera which is now the 290mc I was fortunate to pick up from here, to use with the 2" iruv filter also picked up.

Or is there is an auto option in ao capture use that

During the day could try gain 50 and exposure 30ms. The camera is way more sensitive then a general point and shoot camera.
-
perhaps short exposures are the natural way to less stars too, stars are good

Clouds are a great opportunity to ensure the finder is aligned with the telescope and perhaps install and get familiar with stellarium
