    M31 first pass

    From the album: WO71 stuff

First go with a WO Star 71...No guiding, and a naff polar alignment (even though i tried ASPA.but was difficult without a finder scope) . 6 x 30 second subs, 6 darks, and then put together in DSS, and finally PS.... Could not get rid of the gradient, and focus was also naff...but hey...first try at stacking, and also using the WO Star 71. it can only get better...right?

  5. How long have you had the DX though Daniel? will it have worn in anyway yet? have you seen the benefits of a hyper tuned mount? Sounds quite cool though!

    Night over LA

    From the album: Roadtrips

Quick shot showing the LP. The photo also has Saturn and Mars just to the moons 10 o'clock. Met a lot of great people, and chatted to them for quite a while. Herman, John and I stupidly forgot to get the names of one gentleman using his Meade 10". we spoke at some length about imaging and he shared some of his images with me which were stunning. His Meade was 25 years old, yet still going strong. One other member also managed to get an image of pluto (via his huge newtonian and camera set-up). The LAAS hold these nights once a month and are a great way of public outreach.
