  1. Youare way out of focus there, that simple. You should have pinpoints of light for stars.. Wind your focuser qall the way in and then slowly take it out. You will see the disk slowly shrink and then shjould form the pinpoint.
  2. Thanks for that John. I have not been doing much recently due to repairs and maintenance but now I am back in the game I am just waiting for the weather to play ball. Ohh erm wait
  3. Which moons were you getting. Obviosly triton i would have thought but what else? Have you done a review that i have missed by any chance John?Steve
  4. ok so mention this and hahaha, maybe And so I'll get the blame for the need to spend more money here eh michael tbh I would love to try one out myself, looks a lovely well made eyepiece.
  5. YKSE, how do you like the NIKON's? I saw those on the website when I bought mine although you got the superwides. I notice they are a little cheaper ;-) I still have not had chance to give mine a decent workout due to holidays and appalling weather. Most frustrating
  6. Very nice although I think a Pentax XW or Delos 10mm should replace the hyperion Steve
  7. H Hours of fun to be had comparing ep specs when its raining. Would overtake every single thread in the forum within a few weeks :-) :-) he he he
  8. Estwing showing us the rocket launcher version (see number 6)
  9. Here you go John. I have to tighten the scope clutch up a little as the extra weight of these two really showed last time out and I am also adding another removeable counter weight for the base. Apologies for the photo quality. Added vignetting to dim the glare. Steve
  10. I will throw a picture up of the Nikon in the powermate when I get chance John, we are talking mini scope size
  11. I do like these wodden boxes however with the way many of us change our eyepieces I can't help but feel you would be buying to fit the box rather than fit the job!
  12. That case looks very similar to how mine did last year when I made some sweeping changes, very nice. fwit I still miss the delos 8mm
  13. There are still some in the same camp with you John
  14. wow what are those docter's, they look really nice
  15. Thanks John. The neatness is the OCD coming out of me. Ruler and stanley knife and a lot of patience
  16. So here is my revamped Eyepiece case. New acquisitions are the Powermate (2x), the Astronomik OIII filter (greenish box), the ridiculous low costing W Optics SPL 6mm (couldn't resist), the Radian 5mm and the shining light Nikon Nav-17HW. The box laid flat next below the 6 filter cases contains the EIC to turn the Nikon into a 14HW. I am keeping the Vixens, both to provide for narrow field viewing if ever needed for cutting out bright stars etc and the 15mm NLV also fits into my 60mm spotting scope where it sits really well. So that's 7/8 eyepieces, 11 usable focal lengths when I throw the Powermate into the equation.
  17. This boats already sailed mark but thanks all the same http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/253226-new-extra-special-toy/
  18. Ok based upon exchange rates the Nikon EP (17mm) is costing £536 then add £26 P&P. So next using a import duty and vat calculator http://www.dutycalculator.com/new-import-duty-and-tax-calculation/ it gives me a UK price of £706. Hmm very interesting. As Michael says, two top notch bits of glass for the price of one. I would need to think long and hard about this one though, the thought of importing from half accross the world does not really appeal to me however I would email the suppliers for more info.
  19. hmm, not sure if my nephew is going out there soon, i will have to ask him
  20. I really couldn't see myself paying a £1000 for an eyepiece mate, even if the ER was perfect (19mm)
  21. I see what you mean michael http://www.apm-telescopes.de/en/eyepieces/more-74-ultra-wide-angle/other/nikon-nav-hw-12-5-mm-eyepiece-corrector-eic-10.html
  22. only strange thing I can see about these is the spacing, 9 - 12.5 = 3.5mm / 12.5 - 14 =1.5mm. A little perplexing but I am guessing they have done thier homework here. I am interested but un-committed just yet.
