Sorry to hear about your bad luck!
I think your best option is to wait to hear back from the seller. It could just be a dry solder joint on the power supply, but you don't want to start taking it apart to investigate as it is still under warranty. The seller should offer a repair or even a replacement.

Was a cable snagged?

To be honest, I think general light pollution is far worse. These satellites really only affect long exposure astro photography. Having the odd satellite go through your field of view when you're doing visual astronomy isn't a huge issue.
Shops and offices, not to mention government/council buildings leaving their lights on all night; poor/ill directed street and security lighting, affect not only astronomers, but humans in general; not to mention the massive detrimental affect it has on insects and animals.

That looks very nice. How much of a steal was it, may I ask?
My first 'scope was the SW 102 Mak (off ebay), but on a cheap camera tripod. I had many 'WOW' moments with that little 'scope. Enjoy!

Well caught! Especially in a 6" 'scope.
If you reduce your region of interest (ROI), you will get a much higher frame rate; which will give you more chances to capture good frames when the atmosphere is steady. It's also less demanding on your computers resources when you process the video, as its not having to do calculations on large areas of just black sky.
Good luck with Neptune. I've still got to get that one too and Mercury. My Venus wasn't very good either!

I thought Hope was the UAE probe?

That's really nice. The stars are a good shape, right into the corners and you've kept them tamed well. There's some nice detail in the dust lanes too.

That looks like a really nice program! I like that it let's you work on 32 bit images. Also at £23 (50% off offer) at the moment it's very tempting.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help?
I'm in the process of setting up N.I.N.A. to try, if I ever get out imaging again! I have set up most things but I have come unstuck with the SharpCap Sensor Analysis data for the exposure calculator.
I have SharpCap 3.2.6473 installed and have run sensor analysis for both RAW8 and RAW16 with the .bin files stored in the default location. I also put the .csv files into the same folder as they were saved to my desktop for some reason. However, when I try to load the data into N.I.N.A. it says: "Loaded 0 sensors".
Is there something obvious that I am doing wrong? I've attached a couple of screen grabs.
My N.I.N.A. version is 1.10 HF2 BETA011
Thanks for any help!

Very nice Charles!
I was going to say it looks a bit green and was going to suggest HLVG. Then I realised that I had the blue light filter turned on in my tablets settings! 🤪🙄🤫
So, very nice image Charles, no suggestions. 🙂

That's really nice. The 'curtain' behind horsehead is showing lots of detail.

If it's USB3 then no! I believe USB3 is only good upto about 2m. Even with USB2, running 10m unpowered is not recommended. You would probably get lots of lost connection problems, if it works at all. USB is flakey at the best of times.

Hi, just got in no problem from my android tablet.
Could it be that you're using Ubuntu os?

WOW! Absolutely stunning! I don't think I've ever seen so much detail around that target. 🏆🥇🏆

Looks like the 'scope coped admirably. Lovely ray detail in your image.

It's nice to see some positives coming out of 2020! Lovely images.

I would say that you've had a pretty stellar year, looking at your images.

Very nice! Way better than my first M42. You could also try taking some shorter exposures to capture the trapezium cluster and then blend that into your existing shot with a layer mask.

What a great idea/composition; very inspiring.

Very nice image Alex. It's got real depth to the nebulosity and you've controlled the trapezium cluster superbly.

Try the rb digital app. If you have a library card, you can download digital versions of most magazines including S@N.

Set up the SP102, polar aligned, got the Canon 70D clamped at prime focus and focussed using my brand new paper cutout Bahtinov mask and then... the clouds rolled in.
Waited... waited... gave up. Naturally by bed time the sky was completely clear.
Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt. More times than I'd care to think about!

You would be out looking at it through your 'scope? 😳

Err... yes... I believe if you've been a good boy this year Santa may have a surprise for you! 😜🎅

Yes, I was very surprised as it definitely wasn't forecast. Peak night/morning was 50% cloud until about 00:20 (30 minutes before peak) when the clouds rolled in to about 99.9% until I gave up and came in at about 01:30.
