True but it’s kind of hard when you’re using a Device to control your telescope and setup, and then process images if you do photography. I keep mine on low brightness most of the time and set all my indoor lights on timers to go red at night it’s one of the safest and least harsh colors on your eyes and preserve your night adapted eyesight if you have to go inside for anything.
You weren't talking about photography , you were complaining about your eyesight whilst at the eyepiece.
Your best bet woud be to visit a healthcare professional regarding your eyes instead of speculating on an astronomy forum on something that would appear to be a medical issue.

The simple answer is ... when participating in astronomical observation leave your electronic "devices" , be they laptops , tablets or the ubiquitous 'smartphone' indoors well away from the observation point , i.e. the telescope.
And try not staring at the phone all day long if you're worried about it affecting your eyes .... !

Love the way the lightbridge tendrils are reaching out like two tiny pairs of arms ...

"I was trying to observe Venus through my telescope"
"Although, when I observe the moon it is bright and clear"
That suggest to me that if you didn't alter the focus after seeing a focused image of the moon.
And looking through the eyepiece you saw a focused image of Venus.
Then did you alter the focus when you tried to take the image of Venus ?
If not then I can only guess you didn't have the phone positioned correctly.
Michael
Just switching from the Moon to Venus wouldn't throw the focus out by that much ... 😉

Perfect timing sir ... ☺️

I'd guess that there's a spacer/extension missing from the set-up somewhere , or one fitted that's not needed , for the image to be that far from focus .

Absolutely stunning.
Sadly cloud obscures our view.
Thanks Geoff , hope you get to catch it before it slips from view.

Belt modding and upgrade an old EQ3-2: where to start/worth it?

Used my EQ3-2 for solar , lunar and planetary with no problems but wouldn't have contemplated using it for long exposures .
HEQ5 and upwards is what you need ... 😉
