I'm also going to try my wife's tablet (I've already installed the ASIair app on it) to see if it works with a modern tablet - it's only a few months old, process of elimination I think it's called.
Very good idea, if it refuses to work with more than one device it could be faulty especially if it doesn't beep.
I had a problem with mine when it was new and FLO offered to replace it but I managed to sort it ( operator error ) 😄

The usb stick (64gb) that comes with it is just external storage. So unless you are planning on saving the images to that when imaging you can leave it out.
Much better to have it inserted and save to it otherwise it will save to the SD card and you don't want to be removing that to download images as it's a bit delicate.

Seem to remember some guy getting banned from CN for upsetting OPT 😄

I'm still trying to get my phone to recognise the Asiair pro.
Make sure WiFi is turned on in settings on your phone, the WiFi signal is pretty poor on the Asiair, I use an iPad and if I move it more than a couple of yards from the Asiair it loses the signal, also drops signal if phone decides to go to sleep.

If I've got a dodgy sd card then will that cause the issue I have in that my phone doesn't recognise the ASIair or am I clutching at straws.
SD card should be OK unless you've unplugged it / plugged it in while the Asair Pro was on.
Download Win32diskImager and see if it will copy the card.

Do you have a laptop that has wifi? that you could try it on
Don't think it works on laptops, only phones and pads / tablets.

Hi all,
Just got the ASIair pro bundle from FLO the other day and trying to connect up. Have read that wifi can be an issue and I find that in my setting on my phone it says that the ASIair is 'Connected, no Internet'. It could be that I'm doing something basically wrong as I'm doing this in the house where I've got internet everywhere! I have read about possibly needing a Vonets WiFi Extender but not sure if this will sort it. Btw, on the ASIair itself the power light is on and the wifi light is on but the card light is off, it goes on after initially putting the card in, not sure if that is ok, just looking for any issue I can spot.
Hope someone can help out cos it's very frustrating at the mo!
Cheers,
John
You're not inserting the SD card after switching on are you ?
Have you got WiFi on on your phone ?
So turn on ASIAIR it should beep after a bit and have red LEDs on it is then discoverable by your phone when you start the Asiair app and follow instructions.

The first thing you should do is make a backup of the 35GB SD card otherwise if it gets corrupted you'll lose you activation key an have to get onto ZWO for a new one which will be a right rigmarol.

Haven't even managed to image it yet where it's buried in light pollution 😧

If I can't see the target I sync on a nearby bright star then GoTo the target usually works ok.
Dave
-
I generally don't bother with star aligning if I'm only imaging a single target, just GoTo target and sync on it then run PHD on a suitable star or you can let PHD pick one.
Dave

Sorry misread your post,
Polar align first then if you're imaging something GoTo that, centre it with hand control and sync on it, same as one star align, then connect ASI120 to PHD and set it looping using 3 or 4 second exposures.
Choose a guide star and click on it and wait for it to calibrate when it should start guiding.
Dave

Are you using the ASIAIR polar aligning routine ?

Was considering buying a Prusa 3D printer as all the parts are available separately maybe I should buy a few bits at a time 😂

How long do you expect until Launch Dave? I’ve been checking in every now and then but can’t tell.
Looks like they've got a problem.

Nice one Bob, I must make an effort to sort my time lapse, so much passing cloud it's taking a lot of time trying to save enough frames to make it worthwhile.
Dave

Did a time lapse of R4 ATLAS the other night but haven't got around to processing it yet.

After this leave it a few seconds then the ASIAIR WiFi should show up on your device.
