No luck here, got Solar Quest aligned about ten o-clock then Sun disappeared and still hasn't reappeared but leaving it set up in case there's a chance of some normal solar later.

Hi and welcome to SGL.
Telescopes don't zoom as such all they do is capture light, the bigger the aperture the more light they capture which can be magnified using various eyepieces of different magnification.
There is a limit to how much magnification can be achieved but not something to worry about at this stage. Are you thinking of finding targets in the sky manually or having some sort of electronically controlled mount called a GoTo ? this can make a considerable hole in your budget.

I use my ancient MBP 2013 running Firecapture and Windows in a Bootcamp partition with ASI178MM capturing to external USB3 drive, runs at 30 /40 fps on full disc with Lunt LS60.

Almost faded now, so maybe not a prom, flare? Either way, I hope someone caught it on camera.
You can see it on GONG looks like it came from the AR that's just round the limb.

I use Vdub to sort through videos and delete bits when they're so bad AS3 wont stack them

I might have the wrong end of the stick, but now you can only buy ones that take power over USB, probably because it makes more sense for the more common setup of everything going through a laptop.
Yes, bit of a backward step, guess it makes them cheaper to manufacture.
Really nice focuser so worth looking out for a second hand older version

As above just fixed with grub screws, quite cheap, pack of three £8.00.
I've never achieved perfect focus with the front focuser, it's easier to do it with the parfocal ring once the front gets it nearly right.

Here's how mine is set up.
I use a parfocal ring so that the camera fits in the same position every time, then focus using the ring at the front

Hope mine come out as good, waiting for a hole in the clouds.
Note to self must remember to take flats this time.

I had a similar problem with my first Star Adventurer.
This is two shots of Cappella 30 seconds apart showing how far the tracking was out made into a GIF.

Yes it's listed as one of the cameras you can use.

I've got a WOZ61 on mine as shown, I reverse the foot to help balance.
You can loosen the RA clutch and the knob under the camera to rotate it any direction.

Hi and welcome to SGL.
It's the mount that's aligned to Polaris with the polar scope, the telescope can be aimed anywhere.
