  1. Thanks for the comments my method for re aligning the camera up from night to night is that I have a line laser set up with the camera body and the telescope and once this is done and I frame the object I have an image from the other session and line it up by eye as best I can I do loss some also from the outside but it does not add up to much overall. I also have a lot of dew after a long session but the dew shield and heater strips keep it from the imaging train. Bob

Thanks for comments it is an interesting target I didn't get much data on it so it was a bit noisy and I had to apply more noise reduction on the background than I would have liked if I get some more data hopefully it will not be required. There is more wispy stuff around the planetary I would like to be able to pull it out. Bob
  3. I am posting this as an on going project and hope to get more data next year as it needs more imaged over two nights 02/09/-10-16 Luminance of 8 x 10 minutes un binned and R 4x5 minutes G 4x5 minutes and B 5x5 minutes binned 2x2 scope Celestron 280 mm at F10 and QHY9m camera. Bob

I was hoping to get more data on this target but the weather has not been helpful so I thought I would post it as an on going project maybe get more data next year Luminance taken over two night 29-09-16 and 02-10-16 15 x 15 minutes and 1 x 20 minute sub un binned and some old RGB of 12 x 10 minutes from 2012 scope Celestron 280 mm at F10 cameras QHY8 Pro and QHY9m.   5. Thanks for the helpful comments I think if I get a night or two of clear skies I might try and get some RGB data with my mono camera and see what that does I will still have a bit play with what I have at the moment. Bob

Yes Chris this was at F10 I think maybe the problem was poor old data from 2010 it was way out of line hence the black triangle top left I did not want to crop it anymore I might try to get some new RGB if I can and see if that helps I tried a bit more play with the stars maybe a little better ? Bob

I went for Luminance on Sunday night and managed to get 9 x 10 minutes then thought I would get some 15 minute subs to try and get more detail I got one then the clouds rolled in I have combined this with some old RGB from 2010 taken with my Canon 400D about 3.5 hours I might try and get some new RGB and more Luminance but this is it up until now. Scope Celestron 280 mm at prime focus cameras Canon 400D and a QHY9m. Bob

  10. Luminance of 8 x 10 minutes un binned from 08-05-16 and some old RGB of 13 x 8 minutes from 2012 the image is a bit noisy next year I hope to add to it to try and get more detail. Scope Celestron 280 mm at F 6.3 and cameras QHY9m and QHY8 Pro. Bob

I was hoping to get more data on this target but with the nights now getting lighter I may have to wait until next year now this is it up to now Luminance of 5 x 10 minutes from 27-04-16 un-binned and some old RGB from 2011 of 11 x 10 minutes scope Celestron 280 mm at F 6.3 cameras QHY9m and QHY8 Pro.   17. I managed to get some more Luminance on this target and now have a total of 19 x 10 minutes and 3 x 15 minutes I have re-processed all the LRGB data and this is my effort now. Bob

  19. A LRGB image Luminance of 10 x 10 minutes from 31-03-16 no binning and RGB of 25 x 10 minutes from 2011 Scope Celestron 280 mm at F 6.3 cameras QHY8 Pro and QHY9m more Luminance still required as it is a bit noisy. Bob

I imaged NGC 3893 and it's companion over two nights 06-07-03-16 Lum of 28 x 420 seconds and RGB of 5 x 300 seconds each no binning scope Celestron 280 mm at F 6.3 and camera QHY9m I had problems with gradients as they have just fitted a new LED street light outside and it's light is falling onto the observatory they said they are going to fit a shield so I will see how it goes when that happens I just thought I would mention the lights as I believe they are to fitted all over the UK the data did not seem to be effected much as long as the scope was not pointed in the lights direction. It is a while since I have been able to get out imaging due to the weather but I got out on Sunday night and managed 15 x 420 seconds of Luminance before being clouded out I have combined this with some old RGB of 4 x 480 seconds the cameras were not aligned so I have had to crop the image I hope to get some new RGB for my mono camera in the future Scope Celestron 280 mm at F 6.3 and cameras QHY9m and QHY8 Pro Bob

Thanks for the helpful comments I think one of my problems was that with the poor weather around I had to include some subs which as you say were not up to par hence the poor star shapes on some subs but if I can get more data then I will bin the bad ones the weather has not been kind of late for me but we live in hope.
