The Planet is now rated at 130kg with the double leg clamps so more than I’ll need.
The Graviton is a crazy price. £££££££££££££ 🙀🙀🙀

Yes you can’t help but think that TV has lost interest in the scope side of the business. The eyepiece side must be a lot more proffitable. 🤔

I thought the Uni tripod was really solid until I moved to the Planet. Now I know what rock solid really feels like.

You only have to see the flood of visual doublets hitting the market now to show how out of touch that statement is about there being no market for them.
Dare I raise the subject of TV undercits. 😁

Going to start with some single frame images comparing the 462mc and the 290mm to get a feel how they compare on the moon.

Sorry to hear that John. was thinking about you with the new camera waiting to get your first images. Its a bit like fishing john bide your time. You will catch a biggun eventually. Well i am rooting for you anyway.
Frustrating but as you say just have to be patient. After being laid low by a bug for a little while starting to feel like getting going again.

I have just realised, that the one you linked to on the FLO website, is different to the one you show in your image? 🤔
Just realised that the images for the puck are different although supposed to be the same item.

Get the Primaluce plate and then you can fit pretty well any dovetail saddle.

A 12.” dob is a nice size. Big but still not too big. Had a 14” but just got very little use so sold it on. The OO 12” dob would be a good choice if you can find a used one.

Is the Octoplus a Long Perng? I know the others they sell are the same old same old, but I thought the Octoplus was their own design. I may have fallen for marketing hype, though.
As a lot of Lacerta stuff seems to be made by Synta could be made to order for Lacerta to their own design.

The Baader Steeltrack is more durable than the Moonlite and a very popular high end focuser in Europe and the UK. German designed and German quality control applied before shipping from Germany.
Best thing I’ve found short of a FeatherTouch and then not a huge difference.

The forgotten project with all the coverage of the JWST.
I posted info on the Nancy Grace Roman telescope earlier in the JWST thread but not much notice was taken.

As I will be mainly using the CC8” f/12 the 462 and 290 will be ideal matches.

The ZWO ASI462MC is a good budget lunar / planetary camera and just within your budget.
https://www.firstlightoptics.com/zwo-cameras/zwo-asi-462mc-usb-30-colour-camera.html
For purely lunar the ZWO ASI290 MM would be a bit better but a bit over budget.

Recently bought both. The 462 for planetary and the 290 for lunar. Will be using the 125 f7.8 APO and the CC8” using the AZ100 GOTO.
