  1. I'll have a look ty. Gimp is similar to Photoshop so I might be able to translate between the two. Sadly pixinsight is on my list but it won't be for a while.
  2. The only clouds over UK just seem to arrive over my head and nowhere else last week or so. I like your image update/revision because the first gives me a quality level to aim for and then a further target if I ever do. Dnb filter almost ordered. Svbony can be a bit of hard work answering simple questions though.
  3. they are all really good images, especially that first one also i appreciate you showing a perfectly nice cocoon nebula, and what it can turn into with improved processing skills (and more data). reassuring to hear about the lovely weather you've been having like 200 ish miles south of me
  4. A 130 would be top of list for an inexpensive newt for me, but it's weight is way over my mount's limit. 4.5" star blast maybe not.
  5. Also, and I can't quantify it, but fixing amp glow in software isn't free. Something will be lost, but maybe not much?
  6. I have approximately.1.3kgs of stuff to space velcro onto it, but it's close enough to try it. If I get that far.
  7. Yeah I'd only try it on my mount. It's probably a bit heavy but one step at a time.
  8. You forgot to mention that last one blasts stars It has all the stuff mention in this thread, even the circle on the main mirror. I'll give a go who knows. Ty
  9. Just the collimation if I can potentially use it so much the better. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/176510645760 Also https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/196549770387 Pros: one of them, maybe both, blast stars Blue will fit in nicely with my current colour scheme of white, back, red, grey and stainless steel. Oh, and green Cons: blue
  10. Doubt anyone is still following this, but, is there a Newtonian astrograph expert, or failing that, er anyone, who wouldn't mind me pming them a fleabay link to persuade me not to bid on it?
  11. I've been planning via stellarium for horsehead to return since like February. I still might have it wrong, but I'm certain I can see it in west ish around Jan. How high it gets in the east in a month or two I'm not sure. Still trying to work out how sky works lol.
  12. I took Orion back in January so I'm safe for my main interest thankfully should be able to get at least 5 hours November time onwards. It's taken me six months to work out why it's now in the east
  13. M16 is at zenith compared to rho for me lol well, 23 degrees
  14. Almost 30 degrees down south from me I'm very jealous. Is there any advantage to my northern location?
  15. That's kind of you to say, but I can only assume you left your lens cap on I'm gonna try a drizzled version, and while I didn't quite make Hubble redundant, I'm actually quite happy with this for 35 minutes broadband in bortle6. when my dnb filter arrives, I'll try again for comparison if visible, but otherwise it's too low for me. I'd love to image tho Ophiuchi but that's even lower
  16. I'm a fan of svbony so far. I'm hoping they bring out a £500 strain wave drive mount
  17. Cool Ty. My 533 is svbony very happy with it so far. I did mine in broadband, but will hopefully have svbony DNb filter in a week or two. Will be interesting to compare. Ps - I use similar software but graxpert instead of topaz. Graxpert does gradients and denoising. Astro sharp might be worth a look, I'm playing with a new feature within it called astro clean.
  18. Mind if I ask what gear you used as your 150 minutes stomps my best 6.3 hours result on this? Also your bortle?
  19. Quick process of my entire 35 x 60sec subs through trees, between a roof and chimney and clouds and moon. I'm convinced I can see the pillars of creation though I then got an additional 8 x 60sec to add to my M27 before full cloud coverage at least the jet stream seems to have jumped back up north.
  20. This looks really really good. Lots of detail but deserves flats. I'm a beginner and set my 533 to -5c as the difference between -5 and -10 seems negligible. At least at my skill level. I use flats darks and biases mainly because I can use the processing scripts in siril quicker.
