  1. I found this dovetail bar/quick release mechanism for £27.76 or $34.96 US.
  2. Can anyone steer me toward a bracket setup for a camera - telephoto lens setup that will work on top of my newly acquired Star Adventurer GTi. I want to photograph the April 8th eclipse. I will be using a Fuji XT-3 and Fujifilm 70-300mm lens. Yeah. I don't have any experience photographing the sun. I plan on practicing in the two months leading up to this event. Right now I just need to order some parts and of course solar filter material for the lens. It's just the mounting parts that I'm perplexed about. Thanks.
  3. Thanks to everyone who contributed. I got it figured out.
  4. I have the Mobile Hotspot connection turned off. I assume that is what you are referencing? I am in my house. My phone is connected to my house WiFi signal.
  5. I have not been able to pair to the mount thus I am also unable to unpair. How else can one pair to the mount without relying on the SynScan app? My problem is that I have not been able to connect though the SynScan app. I restarted my phone (Samsung 10e) and mount several times. Thanks for you help.
  6. I assembled my recently arrived Star Watcher GTi. I have power. I'm set up inside my house. Numerous attempts to connect the mount with my android phone via SynScan Pro have been unsuccessful. Do I need to go as far as purchasing SynFiAZ wireless adapter? I read elsewhere that any WiFi signal can interfere with acquiring a connection between one's phone and the mount. I'm stuck at this point in time.
  7. I just unboxed the GTi. I've inserted the 8 AA batteries. I'd prefer powering up using an external 12V DC source. I do have a Power Sonic 12V (sealed) 18 amp hour battery which I've used with an old CG-5 mount and with a 20-inch GoTo Alt-Az setup. It would fit nicely on top of the tripod spreader base. The initial current as printed on the side of the battery is "5.4 amps max". I wonder if that matters in the whole scheme of things. Can anyone respond to that concern? Which may be no concern at all... So, the other thing I'm considering is purchasing a Jackery Portable Power Station. I have a small RV and am off the grid camping at least twice a year. From what I've read elsewhere, that would involve getting a 2 amp AC adapter with a 2.1mm center pin. The power station would come in handy for other things as well such as charging up my laptop. Any comment will be appreciated. I'll be setting up about 8 miles from the center line of the April 8th eclipse. Hopefully the clouds won't get in the way.
