Exactly that. I want to spend time at the eyepiece not the pc.

Honestly the best way to keep an eyeout, gives you a great view on your phone , with movement and sound alerts.

Not true, my nest cameras call my phone or text if anyone is spotted and the quality is that good they can be used in UK courtrooms as evidence attached is my current view . They pick up audio perfectly and have a two way speaker and can zoom right in. Perfect for keeping an eyeout from inside 🙃

I have Nest cams to keep an eye out and they send me a alert if anyone is in view or something makes a noise. I have front and back gardens covered. Well worth the 125 pound for an outdoor cam. If I'm outside early hours etc my 8st American Akita is with me, god help intruders 🤣

It was like Christmas when I got inside and played the video ( it's the little things ) 😅 You should definitely try Mars! I will openly admit I don't really know what I'm doing and just got lucky I guess 🤷

This one attached is probably the best . I used pro video and put the ISO on 50 and WB around 3200, will attach the settings

Thanks Peter, great Jupiter images! I have the Samsung Z Fold. Not the best camera but great for viewing after. I was surprised with Mars , honestly must have caught it at the perfect time! I'm all about the eyepiece as I don't like the faffing with imaging setup. So just a quick video works for me.

Thanks! Nope , don't use a holder as I enjoy the eyepiece more than images so just a quick snap does me. I just hold the phone over the eyepiece.

Another Mars with no editing, taken from a 20 sec video by pausing until a good image was found. Very pleased with Mars as it was one that never came good for me last year. Now I'm happy to move to something else for abit. It's amazing how the mind locks the image from the eyepiece in. I can still vision what I saw through the eyepiece of Mars days later . Anyone else get this? I suppose it sounds daft to remember what we were looking at 🤣 but happy we do!

Hello , welcome! Not to far away in Staffordshire. I have the 200p and it's a great scope! Upgrade the eyepiece and you have a very good scope

Honestly, there isn't much between them. The difference in optic quality, I doubt you would pick up on. More importantly would be the eyepiece. The cheaper one with a decent eyepiece would be 10x better than the others with the standard eyepiece. I have a 200p and see amazing details with good eyepieces. I attach some images taken off my phone with no stacking or editing at all. Mars was 2 nights ago. Remember the eyepiece views show more detail than these photos . So any of your choices will be fine if you invest in a decent eyepiece or two!

I would go for the 180 MAK , both are capable but the bigger MAK will work better I reckon.

It's strange isn't it, I all but gave up on Mars a while back . I think my downfall was not letting it get high enough! It is just luck on the night , got sooooo frustrated with it and now it just seems to be decent!? 🤣

Yeah, being lucky with Mars tbh last few times but this evening was the best ever . Down side, I'm still freezing 🥶 an hour later . I have PIPP and Registak on the pc , might try them on that video tomorrow. Honestly though , I'm happy with just the phone and no stacking .
