  1. Thanks for that. I'll take a look at those. Is there a better inexpensive camera you would suggest? I've read that mono cameras are better.
  2. I'm a complete beginner at EEVA. Can anyone suggest good in-depth introductory articles/websites? From what I've read so far my current equipment should work reasonably well: Williams optics f/6 72mm APO Skywatcher 150p reflector EQ5 pro goto mount ZWO ASI 224mc Many thanks
  3. Sorry to jump in on someone else's thread. Can the platesolving method be used with an EQ5 Synscan mount?
  4. Got to admit after all the discussion I still don't know how to use this polar scope 😂
  5. Yes, I think that's the Android version, but it gets a lot of bad reviews for being incomplete and unstable.
  6. Thanks. Looks like there isn't an Android version.
  7. Thanks. I can't find PS Align Pro. Any chance of a link. Feel like I'm being a complete numpty.
  8. Thanks. How do I decide where on the inner circle? Is the 0, 3, 6, 9 for the time of day?
  9. This is the view through my new Skywatcher polar scope. Can anyone tell me how to use it. I've read that there's an app which helps?
  10. I've got a Nikon D7200 crop sensor camera and a ZWO 224MC planetary camera. Which of these is better for imaging of galaxies? I'm going to start with M31 using a 72mm APO refractor. I'm guessing the Nikon for best fov. I think the ZWO would only get the centre of M31. Any general advice also much appreciated.
  11. Does anyone know if this is a good intervalometer? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rollei-Remote-Release-Cable-Nikon/dp/B01KVE77A0
  12. Can anyone help me with working out the FOV with a ZWO ASI224MC camera attached to a 500mm Nikon lens. For example, what would be the view of M31 Andromeda galaxy. Many thanks, Patrick
  13. I'm a beginner at astrophotography and I've decided to start with the moon. I'm using a Skywatcher 150P and ZWO 224MC. Is this book worth getting?
  14. Thanks for that. I just attached it to the scope with the lens attached. So should it be with no lens, just straight to the sensor? This could be a RTFM situation!
  15. I did, yes. Possibly worth trying even more slowly.
  16. This is my first go with an astrophotography camera. My setup is: Skywatcher 150P, 1.25" adapter into the 2" focuser, x2 Barlow, ZWO224MC. Tried it in the daylight and using FireCapture all I can get is a fuzzy blob in the middle of the screen. This is what I got just pointing across the field. If I point the scope at the ground then it's just a black screen.
  17. High embarrassment. Look what I found in the box...
  18. Are the Baader filters noticeably better?
