What has DSS done ?

Hello,

Just done a stack of lights and darks in DSS and ended up with this. The lights look fine individually  - whats happened ?

Don't bother making any adjustments in DSS, just open the Autosave.tif (or fit) in your image processing program and look at it there. If it still looks bad in that then you can investigate if DSS has a problem.

DSS usually offers this 'overexposed' view at the end so you see the very faint parts of the image. If your subs are well exposed and fairly bright anyway the DSS end view is of no value whatsoever.

As above - make no adjustments based on this view, just save and re-open in a proper photo editing package.

Yes but make sure you check the box that says "Embedd changes but do not apply them" or you will lose a shed load of data.

Thanks for the help. I was pretty strange actually, the .tiff that was produced was just a series of red vertical lines. So I tried a different version of DSS and all is well now.
