Lunt 50 Ha & Canon DSLR focus

Recommended Posts

I have a Lunt 50 Ha and a Canon EOS 650D but cannot find the focus point with the camera.

I have a Baader T2/2" Adapter for Canon EOS but it does not work when using either the T-Ring attached directly to the Lunt wedge or using the nose piece inserted into the 2" adapter that comes with the wedge.

Has anyone successfully attached a DSLR to one of these little helical focusers before?

The Lunt 50 is not compatible with a DSLR at prime focus. Lunt say they are working on a specific adaptor hence the spare ring supplied with the scope. I wouldn't hold your breath though. There is insufficient in-focus in its current set up. I circumvent this issue by using eyepiece projection and my Baader EPs. If you check my link below you can see the full disc result from this method.

Thanks guys - I just read lots of grumbles about this focuser on Cloudy Nights. Aparently there is a Borg focuser that can be made compatible and gives an extra 5mm of inward focus but it pains me to shell out another £150 simply because the supplied equipment is sub-standard.

Grrrr.
