Hi All,

Just sharing a re-processed image from the SII, Ha & OIII data I captured back in January... THe first version was WAY too heavy in the green due to the strong Halpha emission, so I attempted to balance it out a bit by pushig the SII in rd and OIII in blue a bit harder.

Quite a different look from the true color version but interesting nontheless I think.

Thank for looking.

Mariusz

Does true colour really matter - when that photo looks so fantastic! I wouldn't know the difference and as far as I'm concerned that photo is the bees knees, the canine's danglies. I'd take it as a true representation because those are the colours I would expect to see and if I was told the middle bit was supposed to be green I'd say "Looks better as it is"

Seriously, though, I am so impressed. It encourages me to aim for the likes myself. Thank you for sharing that photo. Beautiful. Pleases the eye.

Vikki.

I really love the colours in that picture, so different than what we are used too. I agree that colour is subjective & if it looks good- it is good & man that picture is good. The stars might be a bit rounder but alas most of my pictures have that issue!

The colors are what they turned out to be when I combined the SII, Ha and OIII as RGB and halved the green intensity (halpha) to balance the pic and remove the dominant green look. I like the way they turned out also.

As far as stars are concerned they look quite round to me, looking also at the original resolution pic. Apart from the edges which show a fair bit of coma, the center stars are ok... Compared to what I was getting less then a year ago the tracking and star roundness is much better. This image was made of 30 minute subs, back then even 10-15 minute sub wouldn't make ovals, it would make clear star trail lines. Ha ha.
