I cannot see one, mind you I didn't get home until 10:30

There is not a great deal in the way of big proms but there are some lovely smaller one about the disc...... the surface is looking grand  especially in white light around the  group of spots and very bright in Ha.

At a guess I'd say I'd copped it about half way through as it was already beginning to detach from the limb. I would also hazard a guess at it having occurred some way beyond the limb towards the far side as it was already quite thin when I noticed it at around 9:10am. I was sat there a while after this watching it but it did break up and get faint over that time and if I had not known it was there it could have easily been missed despite how large it had originally been. I didn't give it a thought to note what time I lost sight of it. I'm sure it would have still be seen in larger scopes and most certainly on a camera sensor. Hopefully someone may have imaged it as I know early morning is popular with solar imagers.

They do happen very quickly sometimes and its great you caught it, right place right time. I have done so on a couple of occasions with a couple of belters  and on both occasions it has been early morning.

There is a nice prom in the 3 O'clock position at the moment or West as it would be without a scope, a nice "w" shape

There seemed to be a lot going on around the limb today but all either coming and going quickly or changing over a short period of time. Nice change from the proms sitting there for Hr's with little change. I did see the W one Shaun. The center of which I'd watched develop in the morning and looked to detach at one point almost like \ ! / There was one below this also that reminded me of a cartoon fart running parallel to the limb. I later had a mess with imaging but I'm beginning to think I'm just not cut out for it.

It was massive though Michael so my thoughts lead to it being a cme. While I wanted to give people the heads up so they didn't miss out on the event I was also hoping that I'd get feedback from other members to confirm what I was seeing was what I thought. I can't help but think it was just too big for a prom and with parts becoming fainter as it was getting further from the surface I guess it could be easly mistaken for something less dramatic. Is there no where I can check on the net that can confirm it was or wasn't? I always thought someone monitors the sun constantly for risk of electrical disruption.

Another from yesterday and one I am actually happy with post-8355-0-71177700-1429433268_thumb.jp

Michael I have modified your picture to give a better idea (from memory) what I saw. My only doubt is that I don't remember the prom to the left ? I remember there being the small prom in the middle of the cloud. Is it possible the cloud broke from the prom to the left ?? Would it be so big though and change so quickly ?? post-8355-0-77768200-1429435067_thumb.jp Superb image BTW Michael :icon_salut:
