aperture for solar obs

The cover for my 12" dob has an 2" hole cut into it. Am I correct in assuming this would be adequate to provide for solar observations with an appropriate Baader film/filter placed over it?

Also, would I then have a 2" F30 scope?

Just also make sure the finder is covered!

You could make a cover with a larger aperture say 100mm -that would be more than enough.
