EQ5 Mount

Those of you that have the EQ5 mount, I'm just trying to find out what it's like ie smooth, solid, easy to use...... ect

I've got one, lovely mount, not to heavy, very solid, easy to assemble ad take apart again, and only took me 15 minutes to fit the syscan upgrade kit.

Cheers Ian. When using the EQ5 manaully is it easy to move around the sky, I have read some threads about Dobs and they all say that slewing around the sky is really smooth and easy, but they have to use "nudging" to fine search an object.

The mount is silky smooth and very sturdy, and to a degree portable (especially if the weights are removed first !).

If you can stretch to it then add on the syntrek too

yeah maybe a bit out of my budget, will look to get an upgrade in the very near future
