First Planet!! - Saturn

First proper attempt at a planet - Quite pleased with the result! The smaller image is "direct" at f/15, the larger is with a Tal 2x Barlow at f/30. The f/30 was a real pain to process! I used Avistack to align and stack and then had to go to Registax to RGB align!! (there must be a simpler way!) Then a touch of colour in Registax followed by a tweak in PS CS5. I'm sure someone with more skill could get more from these images! I think I should go to 6000 frames in future??

7” Maksutov-Cassagrain at f/15 and f/30. SPC900 10fps 600 of 1200 frames stacked. Seeing reasonable with quite a bit of “boiling”. Image processed in Avistack, Registax and PS CS5.

Very nice image especially your first try , that 180 mak has lots of potential keep at it

Great first attempt. Try splitting the rgb and then re-aligning, should just take the blue edge off, or try it in Registax.
