It has been a long time since I managed to get my scope outside for a photo session... Anyway, yesterday the sky was clear, the temperature not too cold, the moon wasn't too bright and it was Saturday: all the conditions were met.

Here is the Leo Trio: 18*5mins...

Fenriz,

Since you will have a wide field using an EOS 1000 and the SW, it won't be too difficult to locate a galaxy: use the max 1600 ISO and 15" shot should be sufficient to see something very faint if you are at the correct position. Now of course, the dual axis motors will help you (and a GOTO mount even more) ;-)
