Collimation - help please

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Sorry - know there are a million + 1 questions on collimation.

But I think i have to do it.

Viewing is fine, but for photography - focus just isn't happening.

This is an unfocused pic of Sirius

Do you agree that I have to do it ???

Thank you.

If yes - anyone near Coventry !!! Booo hooooo .......... :D

Was the star in the centre of the field of view for the pic ?

If it was not, then collimation can look off, when it is ok.

If the star was centred for the pic, then it does look like

you need to collimate. There's lots of online info on collimation,

but one tip - sort out the secondary first, before fixing the primary.

HTH, Ed.
