HELP - beginner here

Recommended Posts

Absolute beginner with astrophotography and needing help.

I have the following scope SkyWatcher Explorer 130P Newtonian Reflector Telescope and have recently bought a Canon 500D DSLR camera.

How do I connect the camera to the telescope?? What sort of attachment is needed?

I am sure I'll get into this whole new experience quickly once I overcome this mental hurdle :-)

Hi,

Attaching the 550D to your scope is fairly straight forward.

Please see that attached guide, the only change will be a 1.25" nose piece instead of 2".

So you'll need a T ring and a 1.25" nose piece. That's it!

To actually connect them remove the eyepiece from the scope and the lens from the camera. Add the 1.25" adapter to the T ring and then add that to the camera in place of the lens and pop that into where the Eyepiece goes.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Ant
