Solar Filter Film

I am thinking of ordering some Baader Astro Solar safety film and making a filter. Just wondering what i can expect to see through this and is it 100% safe?

Its 100% safe

You will see the Sun as a white disc

You can "cheat" a little by using with a #21 or #23 filter to give a Red/Orange effect

Sunspots, faculae, granulation (with 4"+ aperture and steady seeing).

It's 100% safe when used according to instructions. Like most things, it isn't safe if abused. Do remember to remove the finder, leave it capped or make it a solar film filter of its own. Inspect the film for splits / tears / holes before every use, and make sure the filter mount is attached firmly to the scope (so it won't accidentally fall or be blown off, and is unlikely to be disloged by stray fingers etc.)
