Skywatcher 200P Dobs diagonals

Hi all, had a good look in the archives - but can't find an answer to this one...

I have a 200P Dobs arriving in April, and I want to use it to help give my kids (8yr old, and 5yr old) a good sense of how small we are in the universe

Obviously, the scope is a massive beast - so they will probably need a chair to stand on. Would a diagonal EP make it better as well? Is there any reduction in image quality by using these?

You can't use a diagonal with a newtonian scope (a dobsonian is a newtonian on a simple mount) I'm afraid - they don't have the focus travel to accommodate them.

Normally it isn't possible to use a diagonal with a Dobsonian. Newtonian Reflectors have very little back focus and the extra light path that the diagonal will cause will mean that you are unlikely to attain focus.
