Mounting Plate - Short/Long

My setup came with 2 different mounting plates, can anyone tell me when you would use each one?

I currently have my 200P set up on the long mounting plate - will this give the best balance?

Hi Scott,

When you say mounting plate, do you mean a dovetail bar? If so then a longer one you would tend to use if you could not achive balance with the short one.

Personaly i'd probably just leave the long one on, just to save faffing about with bolts etc should you put somthing heavier on the scope like a camera or somthing.
