Upgrading to a bigger scope - Advice needed

Recommended Posts

Hi Oly,

Hmmm ... yes ... I'm a bit embarrassed by that ... :D

To be honest, I'm quite nervous about collimating the newt having never done it before. I've downloaded the guides, got a Cheshire eyepiece and am ready to go. It's just a case of mustering up the courage to do it.

Cheers

Pete

It's not that hard, tbh. I did find the idea of the secondary a bit off putting but once lined up it stays like that for a very, very long time. My primary likes to migrate a bit over about seven weeks but a wee tweak puts it back. The only real hard bit is trying to get your brain to understand how the knobs affect what you see looking down but you can easily manage not really 'getting it'.

As one once no0b to another, there's nothing to be scared off, especially if you've not done it for two years - it can't make your views any worse, only better!
