How to synchronise a Synscan GOTO system

I have an EQ3-2 mount with the Synscan GOTO upgrade. I do the star alignment and its not bad but the objects it goes to are often off to the edge of the field of view. What I want to do is move the object to the centre of the field then synchronise the synscan. Anyone know how to do that please ??

I have tried this, but when I press and hold down the ESC key it simply goes up the menu one step !

I think you have to press ESC until you back right out of the menu system, then press and hold the ESC key for a few seconds. That's what I have to do with my Synscan handset anyway .

I find pressing ESC once and the holding ESC down gets you to the re-centre dialogue.
