Moon hides Propus

At about ten to nine last night, while waiting for a set of piccies of something completely different o finish, I was having a play in CdC and discovered that there was to be an occultation of Propus (eta Geminorum) in about twenty minutes. Having never witnessed one of these before, I decided to try and photograph it.

I was taking a series of 1 second exposures at 5 second intervals, timed using GPS, and these are two consecutive exposures, so precise time of occultation must have been between these two times.

With a bit more notice, I could probably have produced a better result, but I am quite happy with what I got given how long I had to prepare.

Now ... must go looking for the next one ...

Really nice shots, looking at all these pictures I can't wait for my first scope to come and get first light.
