First Time Moon Shot

My first viewing of the moon tonight so couldn't resist taking a quick snap with my digital camera (afocal)

I can't work out how to post the picture straight on here so attached it instead.

nice photo you got a nice close up of the moon there and one feature in the top of the picture to me looks like the vein on an arm. to the right of the 2 craters at the top

Did you use your 450D afocally for this shot or a pocket camera? If it was a pocket camera i really recommend getting one of the many Universal Digital camera mounts. I got one and it made taking afocal shots so much easier and they come out 100% sharper

Got me itching to get the camera out tonight now!

Thanks Paul,

It was just taken with my Panosonic Lumix, literaly 5 mins after the scope was set up as it was disappearing behind my neighbours house!

I am hoping to get the T-ring adapter for my 450D soon so I can have a play with that

Hey Scotty,

I got a few photos and quickly popped one into photoshop and posted it up. There is cloud out tonight but couldnt resist setting the scope up though for a quick blast.

Hey Porl,

that's a really nice shot, very good contrast for afocal.

Lets hope for clear skys over Burton this weekend.
