M42 in Black and White

Just getting to know both the scope, Dslr camera and limitations from a light polluted town...

Here is a processed image of M42.

10second single exposure at ISO 1600 prime focus.

Processed in Photoshop, changed to greyscale, and just a simple tweak with contrast and brightness.

It looks sharp and there's plenty of detail right into the core to be seen.

Damian and Mike, thanks for the comments. I'm hoping to do better with my humble equipment at SGL6 in a few weeks... but it's a start given the conditions we have here in Stevenage
