Jetblakk Posted March 8, 2011 Share Posted March 8, 2011 Just bought a Tal 1 second hand by the way (very cheep) got it home and the mirror seems to be very dirty dust and water rain or dew there is three screws at the bottom of tube outside is this the way to take it out to clean ? if so can I just put it back or will it need re collimation again if so how do you do it Thanks Vik:headbang: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Moonshane Posted March 9, 2011 Share Posted March 9, 2011 do make sure that you follow the tried and tested ways to clean a mirror or it's easily damaged. if you looked at the mirror by shining a torch down the tube, it will look worse than it is. I have never cleaned a mirror even though it has a few water stains and some dust. it rarely affects the view unless seriously bad. a scratched mirror is often a lot worse than a dirty one!here's a good one Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Superbly informative. We have a Tal Users Group set up on sgl, Stargazers Lounge - Tal Users Groupwhich amongst other Tal related stuff, has hints n tips etc on Tal 1's.Have a pop in if you wish.
