M42 second attempt.

My second attempt at M42 from tonight.

details as follows.

iso - 800

25X30s subs + 10X10s subs

Darks as above.

all stacked in DSS and curves and levels played with in various programs. i really need to invest in some decent processing software but i'm quite pleased with how its turned out.

oh and it was all unguided.

any advice would be appreciated.

Looking promising. I'm no expert, but M42 is a difficult subject as the centre is so much brighter than the fringes, that it gets burned out and you need a series of images at different exposures. Others will be able to advise more than I!

Hope you don't mind, had a quick play in Photoshop to improve the colours.

And you need to do some flats to remove the vignetting.
