2" eyepieces?

First off I love my 28mm 2" eyepiece, and I was thinking about getting a smaller mm eyepiece. Of my 1.25 EPs I use I love my 17mm, so I was thinking of getting a 17mm 2" and was wondering was it worth it? Or should I get a smaller?

2" is only the size of the barrel that needs to be that wide to make it physically possible to create a low power widefield EP.

There are no other advantages, except the convenience of switching between EPs without an adapter.

Depends what 17mm ep your thinking of, if it's a Nagler or an Ethos then you'll get a much larger field of view than in the 1.25" ep.

If you get one that shows you just over a half degree actual field of view you will get the moon filling the eyepiece, for my f5 scope I use a 2" barlow on a 26mm Revelation 2" eyepiece and the view is amazing.
