My First 6Mins Of AstroPhotography & Then ..

The rain came down Finally the clouds parted & could see the moon

& orion got my cam & tripod walked across the field to a darkish spot

pointed at orion looked through the viewfinder couldnt see anything

( Lens Cap Still On ) got a few pics of the moon but no good just white light & clouds heres the best of the bunch

Also had the UV filter on should that be taken off

Good start Kris. I like the blurry clouds in the 2nd pic with the Pleiades peeping through.

I'm always leaving my lens caps on too - very embarrassing when trying to take a picture in a busy street!

Thanks john the pleiades shot was a point & hope couldnt see it the viewfinder the clouds were moving fast last night cant wait for a full clear night

Theres another discussion of the Filter dilema in another thread...

I try and use Hoya Pro 1 DMC filters or better...

Use liveview and 10x zoom to check focus...
