Hi i was told this is the best webcam to image planets

is the flash hard to install?

or can you get a pre installed one

Morgans will pre flash it for one or two quid - you'd need an XP system to do it

Mmm i only have a laptop with windows 7 , so it wont work on that will it ?

Get Morgans to do it - then you can load the Win7 drivers for it from Phillips (or Morgans) and it should work ok. Others have done this sucessfully. It's only the flashing needs to be done on XP

It can be flashed with Win 7 but you will need Win XP Virtual PC to be installed. It's free from Microsoft: Download Windows XP Mode

You may need to use IE rather than Firefox to d/l as it will want to install the Windows Genuine Directx checker first which Firefox didn't like on may machine. Then XP mode is a 500MB download, then Virtual PC (not sure how big that is, prob similar).

TBH a machine with XP is much easier, less hassle.

OTOH, a user here cGolder has a modded driver which allows the 880 to work in Win 7 without flashing. Start of the story here http://stargazerslounge.com/astro-lounge/113699-philips-spc880nc-now-22.html

Colin's driver (cGolder) works with Win7 without flashing. I've used it. Don't really want to take Colin's thunder so PM him. If he has no problem with it, I can send the driver. Credit where credit's due!

My flashed 9000 works on 7 with Sharpcap and no other drivers installed.
