Stellarium On Ipad

Hi All,

Anyone managing to run Stellarium on an iPad?

I so want it on mine but it says 'Safari cannot download this file' every time I try.

Stellarium is not an iPad app. There are several similar programs that are available however - SkySafari, Star Walk and Pocket Universe. SkySafari will drive a scope (with a little hardware help)

Just found it in iTunes store for £0.59 so buying it now.

I'd recommend Star Walk, very nice app which works much better than I thought due to the iPad having a built in compass.

I've got both Stellarium for iPad and Pocket Universe HD. Stellerium is better for finding your way to whatever it is your going to look for, but Pocket Universe is great for choosing your targets. I think if I had to pick one I'd go for Stellarium, even though it is quite buggy (still the original release, not updated yet I think).

No problem, I was amazed when I tried it on my wives iPad! Brilliant little app.

Red Shift is also available on IPad and has much better detail when you zoom in compared to Star walk which is very nice to look at
