SN2011B in NGC2655

astrovirus

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody,

Here's my effort on the recent super nova in NGC2655. I had to use the family 1000D as I was doing modifcations to my astro 350D (ACF and peltier, will post this here when finished). Taken with 5 min subs for a total of 80 min RGB at ISO1600. Calibrated with 6 darks/10 bias in DSS and post-processed in CS3 (quicky with just some small amounts of levels/curves/noise reduction (Carboni action)/saturation increase). Well I'm pretty pleased I have captured my first SN, and boy is it a bright one me thinks.

I think this super nova is hard to see for Southern astronomers as is quite close to the Northern Celestial Pole

Well here's the image.
