M31 First attempt at a stacked DSO

This is 10 x 150 second exposures.

I've used Harrys Astro Shed tutorial with my trial copy of PI.. Excellent tutorials by the way.

I did do 5 darks but I've no idea what to do with those.

Shot with a Canon 5D MkII + 300mm Lens + 1.4 convertor.

Very nice for what is still a relatively short total exposure..

The processing is well done as the core has been kept under control whilst you pulled out as much of the faint detail as the exposure time would allow

Thanks for that... I have another 25 images taken of varying lengths that I'm going to try and process next... Now I know it works

Forget Pixinsight with darks and bias for that matter.. stack them with your others in Deep Sky Stacker... then import the stacked TIFF into Pixinsight..
