CowsonConcrete
HiCan anyone help, other than an upgrade, to help me cut down on the wobble I get when I try and take pictures. I have an eq2 tripod and a 102mm spotting scope (which is quite weighty), bolt on a compact camera and an adapter on the end and it's heavier still. I've had my counterweight at all possible positions but still get a lot of wobble on my shots.I try and take video and hope a single shot is decent but does anyone know of a quick fix? Thanks
steppenwolf
The counterweight only has one correct position and that is the point at which with the RA clutch disengaged and the counterbalance bar horizontal, the counterbalance weight balance out the weight of the spotting scope and the camera. GrantEb
What type of camera are you using?
CowsonConcrete
My camera is just a small compact, so it's always a struggle to capture images anyway but I'm, obviously trying to get the best shot I can. I'm looking for a cheap dslr body but in the meantime.....

CowsonConcrete
Yes, I use a 10 or 2 second timer depending on the object.
Psychobilly
I wouldnt try and get "perfect" balance with the counterweight but offset it ever so slightly... same with the OTA keep it slightly back heavy...Billy...
