EQ6 Upgrade to GOTO/EQMOD

Hi i am getting a standard EQ6 mount tomorrow for a bargain price. I have been reading through the forums and think i have the correct info on the upgrade to GOTO/EQMOD for this mount. Just to clarify is this correct?

EQ6 Standard - EQ6 Synscan upgrade kit

This will give me full GOTO and the ability to use EQMOD?

ALso can i just plug the EQMOD into the mount or do i have to use the hand control to plug it in. If i can i will probably just sell the hand control at a later stage.

That's the upgrade from a standard EQ6

If it's already a Syntrek then you don't need this.

You can run EQMOD without the SynScan handset, connecting the mount to a computer USB port directly via something like this

Thanks for that shame you just cant buy the motors etc on there own and not the handset.

It's handy to have the hand controller around for fault finding and backup.
