1000D vs 500D

The 500 is the better camera and will have better noise control than the 1000.

I speak from experience with many Canon camera from 1Ds to 10d, however I am not an astrophotography expert and may be missing an important requirement for astrophotography.

Got both the 500D has lower noise than the 1000D which is already pretty good at the price point...

Havent modded the 500D yet...
